It’s been a busy week and I’m just now really relaxing. Time for a cup of tea and a book while dinner (stuffed peppers) is in the oven. This book is a collection of short detective stories. The author was inspired after the popular Sherlock Holmes 🕵🏼♀️ stories became a hit. She also wrote the Scarlet Pimpernel book series. And I love the dedication in this book. I’m reading what I thought was a romance but it’s more of a police procedural set in New Orleans. The romance is secondary and takes up maybe 15% of the plot but I’m riveted. I didn’t think I’d like a gritty police thriller but the main character is likeable enough and drew me in. Though if I were to believe the book, New Orleans has a corrupt police force and bad attorneys who let killers go free. 🤔 Also, my poor tea is more milk than tea. A tealatte 🤣.
